Pocketry

Terms of Use

Last updated October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Jonathan Lazoff, who publishes Pocketry (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing or using Pocketry (the “App”) or this website, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

1. License

Subject to these terms, and once you have bought a license or while your free trial lasts, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on the Macs you own or control, for your own personal or business use. One license is for one person. You may not:

2. Free trial

The trial lets you use every feature for 14 days. After that, a license is required to keep using the App. Your history stays on your Mac if the trial ends.

3. Buying a license

4. Updates

Your license includes free updates for the current major version of the App. We may offer a future major version as a separate paid upgrade. We may change, add or remove features, for example if an operating system change requires it.

5. Your data

The App stores your clipboard history, snippets and settings on your Mac, encrypted, and does not send them to us. See the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you copy and paste, for keeping your own backups (the App has an export), and for having the right to use any content you handle with it. If you lose the encryption key stored in your Keychain, your history may be unrecoverable.

6. AI features and other limits

7. Ownership

The App, its design, text and icon belong to Jonathan Lazoff and are protected by copyright and other laws. These terms give you a license to use the App, not ownership of it. The App uses components from Apple’s operating system, which are governed by Apple’s own terms. You keep all rights to your own content.

8. Ending the license

You may stop using the App at any time. We may revoke a license, and stop supporting or updating it, if you break these terms, if payment is reversed or charged back, or if a license key is shared publicly or obtained by fraud. If your purchase is refunded, your license ends as described in the Refund Policy.

9. No warranty

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some places do not allow some of these exclusions, so they apply only as far as the law allows.

10. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost business, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or removes rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and we consent to those courts. If you are a consumer, you keep any right to bring a claim in your home country and to rely on the mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to sort things out informally.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will say so on this page and update the date above. If you keep using the App after a change, you accept the new terms.
